A Full Day : Skincare, Strength & Stillness

Hi loves, and welcome to the very first episode of Soft Days in LWR/SRQ—where we slow down, glow up, and choose care over chaos. I’m Vanessa, chief content creator at LWR Fashion. Let’s get into it, shall we?
I gave myself the full day yesterday. No calls, no errands, just me, tending to me. And honestly, it was everything I needed.
The Morning: Soft Starts & Skincare
I woke up slow. No alarms, no rush, just sunlight sneaking through the curtains and the faint smell of eucalyptus from the diffuser. I started with warm lemon water and eased into my skincare routine: double cleanse, toner, brightening serum, eye cream, and SPF. I wasn’t in a hurry; it felt like I was checking in with myself, layer by layer.
First Stop: Dermatologist Facial
By mid-morning, I was at my dermatologist’s office for a facial. It was one of those science-meets-spa sessions—steam, extractions, LED therapy, cooling masks. I didn’t scroll or multitask; I just let someone take care of my skin for once. When I left, I felt like my face, and honestly, my whole self, had hit reset.
Retail Therapy Moment
After that, I wandered into a few boutiques. I didn’t have anything specific in mind; I just wanted to touch fabrics, try things on, and let my mood guide me. I ended up finding a scent I didn’t know I’d been looking for—a Voluspa candle in Santal Vanille, with soft notes of sandalwood and vanilla orchid. I took one whiff and knew instantly it was coming home with me, along with a pair of sunglasses that made me feel like the main character. No guilt, no overthinking just joy.
Solo Lunch Stop
I grabbed lunch alone at a little café—window seat, of course. I asked the waiter what they’d get if they were off duty and took their pick without overthinking. It came out perfectly, comforting, flavorful, and exactly what that moment needed. I sat there without my phone, just people-watching and breathing. I had forgotten how calming it is to eat slowly with no distractions.
Gym Time: Lifting Session
In the afternoon, I headed to the gym for a lifting session; nothing too intense, just focused. I had my playlist on, zoned out, and moved through my sets like therapy. It wasn’t about numbers or progress photos—it was about feeling strong and present in my own body.
Evening Spa Session
From there, I headed to the gym’s spa, where hot stones, deep tissue, and a eucalyptus steam room made everything feel like breathing in calm.By now, you know my love for eucalyptus runs deep, so that scent wrapping around me felt like the day had come full circle. I could feel the tension leaving my body in waves. It was one of those massages where you walk out taller, like someone lifted something off your shoulders you didn’t even realize you were carrying.
Home, Showered, and Fully Offline
By evening, I was back home—showered, wrapped in my softest robe, with a cup of mint tea in hand. No noise, just me, a face mask, and the soft flicker of the Santal Vanille candle burning quietly in the corner. The scent wrapped around the room with warm notes of sandalwood and vanilla. The whole space felt like a real exhale. I binged a show I’d been meaning to start; one episode turned into five, and I didn’t feel the slightest bit bad about it. I was warm, full, relaxed—exactly how I wanted to be.
End of the Night
When I finally climbed into bed, I felt light and cared for, like I had come back to myself a little. The scent of the candle was still hanging in the air: sandalwood, vanilla, and quiet warmth curling around the room like a lullaby. It didn’t just set the mood; it tucked me in. It wasn’t just a day off—it was a proper homecoming. I needed that more than I realized.
